    expression that will look and retrieve first 4 letters from query results

    =Count(IIf([Circuit ID]="available",1)) this will find the field values that are labeled "available"



    I also need an expression that will find the word "reserved" but for it to just look at the first 4 letters "resv"

    How about

    Left(FieldName, 4)
