    Red face Database Begin From the beginning

    Hi All;

    As new on access i am just posting my Concept like this;

Views:	64
Size:	88.4 KB
ID:	24348

    With lot of confusion i could not move after the table. not only that as per the File size (obviously Its Huge) not sure its good to use access or should consider for something else.

    Please advise best way (beginner level) to complete this.

    Thanks

    well you display an overview of what is maybe the organization's database needs - but beyond that I don't really know what is your question.....

    Have you solved this one? If not I may be able to help. I am now long retired - at 77 - but when I was in the workforce I had become No1 in Canberra for Access database jobs.

    dnrg26,

    I'm assuming you are trying to design a database that covers all the things shown in your diagram. I suggest you don't do that. Focus on the actual functionality that you (or other developers) will be delivering first and build the database(s) piece by piece to support that. It would be folly to attempt to build everything at once. You should prioritise, deliver the solution in smaller increments and get user/customer feedback with each iteration. No one one wants just a database - the database is part of a solution that normally includes applications with forms, reports, web pages, etc, so you need to understand your database as part of that whole rather than an end in itself.

    Something else to think about is whether it really makes sense to develop things like invoicing and payroll at all. A ready made, off-the-shelf solution can almost certainly give you the same or better results for less than the cost of building it yourself.

    Hope this helps.

    Suggest you email me off line - keith@keithsayers.id.au - and give me a fuller idea of what you seek. It does look as though you are jumping in at the deep end when you would be better starting at the shallow end.
