Command Buttons on Navigation Forms for record manipulation on sub-form

I have a Navigation form containing 4 sub-forms. Each of the sub-forms has command buttons on them. This includes Next Record, Prior Record, First Record, Last Record, Find Record, Deleted Record and Close form. Initially when I had each form come up individually I had to put all the buttons on each form. Now that I am attempting to use a Navigation form I would like to pull them off the form and put them above the sub-form (but still on the Navigation form) and have them apply to each sub-form that appears. When I try to attach a macro to a button I cannot get it to behave the way I want it to, i.e. go to next record, go to last record, delete record etc.

I know the answer is staring me in the face, but apparently I am blind in one eye and cannot see out of the other.

My db is to track my wood-turning items (in this case pen kits). Below is a pseudo drawing of the navigation form.

    Maker Form
    Pen Finish Form

You spent a lot of time re-inventing the wheel.
Navigation buttons exist at the bottom of every form without any work.

    Thank you for your reply

I do not use those navigation controls for end user applications. I will use them during the development phase but not for the final product. To me it looks much cleaner and complete to have the specific buttons for the actions you want the user to utilize. I want to control EVERYTHING the user can possibly utilize. Essentially I want to turn everything off and then only turn on what I want them to use and only use them in the way I specify.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
