Hello All,
**EDIT** Sorry for the confusion, I'll try to explain better.
So I run a query out of an internal mainframe system, this query exports the data to excel. I then Link this excel file to access so i can append my table each month, the problem i am having is that the export from the internal system automatically changes the name of the tab in the excel file to the name of the query i run and adds a number which indicates how many times I've exported this file, so for example I tell it to save the file as Query.xls but the tab within the file may say Query (23).
Like so
The issue then becomes that my append query is looking for a tab in the link file called Query without numbers, so if the number is there it fails to append. Currently I have to open the export file and delete the number so that access can find the data i want. I was hoping there might be a trick out there that will help me avoid renaming the tab so i can just export and append without manual intervention.
Thank you for your help.
