    [Cuttting & Pasting]

I am fairly new to Access so this is likely a stupid question, but...
Sometimes when I go in to Access the information I have entered is not in the correct order. So I cut the portion out I needed to change, and pasted it back where it belongs. However, upon closing Access and re-opening it my data is back in the wrong order. Can I not "cut and paste" in Access and have it stay that way? Thanks

in a database (any database) data is stored randomly, you cannot rely on the order it was input or any other factor. The solution is you sort the data on some basis - perhaps a timestamp or autonumber if you want the order it was input (tho' you cannot rely on autonumber incrementing regardless, just that it will be unique).

So you need to define what is 'the correct order' and sort by that - it may mean adding an extra field do define that order
