Table link to excel not updatable

there is a log made in excel and I created a link in ms access, I was able to create the link in ms access, however, when I try to add a new data or update an earlier data, it is not allowing. when I add a button, it is telling the error of "YOU CANT GO TO THE SPECIFIED RECORD".



Need help.

I am using MS Office 2010. both ms access and excel record were created in Office 2010

You cannot directly update Excel data from a linked Access table like that. Really old versions of Access used to allow it, but it was Microsoft lost a copyright
infringement lawsuit and cannot do it anymore.
