Is there a way to time out and close a form automatically

I have multiple users remote accessing a single access file on a shared drive, and loading records via a form. I know this is not a good design with lots of contention issues. But I am stuck with it for now.

The problem is that some people open the access file, and then just sit with the form open, which prevents others from accessing it. I was hoping there was a way to start a timer when they open the form, and if they don't submit it in say 10 or 15 minutes, shut it down without submitting the record.

You have it wrong. You need a split database.
EVERY user gets their own copy of the front end , with 1 table db on the server.

I have never heard of a split database. I did read up on it at https://support.office.com/en-us/art...b1d73498cc#bm4 and it looks like it will do the job.

    Thanks for the pointer.
