Access query is data source for Word mail merge. The email field gets duplicated in the merged doc

I have a Word merge document that is just an information sheet. One of the fields is email, the field is the basic {MERGEFIELD "Email}. In the merged document every email comes out in the following format: jdoe@gmail.com#mailto:jdoe@gmail.com#
#mailto:repeat email# is added to the end of every email address

Is there anything I can do on the Access side to prevent this? I haven't been able to find a field code in Word to fix it. If you have an answer on the Word end that would be great as well.

    Thanks!

Are you sure its not the way Word has the field.?
I get this sometimes because the field was inserted twice in the word doc.
    or
On the Access side, make the query show unique records by the query property: UNIQUE VALUES = TRUE

I will try that on the Access side. There is just the one code on the Word side, nothing weird embedded in it or anything.

    Thank You!
