A query is duplicating records during creation

When building a query to show all fields of all records, the resulting query has duplicated several of the records, but not most of them.

The database shows 75 records in table view, which is correct, but 82 (with duplicates) in query view (and, in one case) 114 (including duplicates) in report view when the report is based on the query.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance.

If you are joining 2 tables in a query, records can/will multiply.

If you have a one to many relationship and want to show all occurrences of the child records, Access has to duplicate parent records so that all the child records will be displayed.

When you post with an issue regarding query(s) and record counts, it is best to show your query SQL, and the table(s) involved --structure and data.

    Exclamation Bingo!

It turns out that because I had multiple documents in an Attachment Object field, it created a new record for each of the attachments in the report. So now all I have to do is filter them away.

    Thanks.
