    continuous form, tabbing to footer!

    Hey everyone,

So i have an openargs value of "PayAmt"

I have a continuous form with fields for the cost of items.

In the footer of the form i have =sum[cost]

As i enter down the form the sum grows, but then on the last record the sum doesnt update as the enter doesnt go to the footer of the form, so the value stays dirty....

How can i make my form go from the detail section to the footer!!

    Thanks for the response,
I kneo they can click on the button in the footer but if they are
    Enter data, press enter
    Enter data, press enter

    Etc

U would want the last field to press enter then go to button on form...?

So how do you tell Access at the moment that this last 'enter' means 'finished inputting'

This is why forms are not the best place to show aggregate data. That's what reports are for. Forms are intended for entering raw data, reports are for manipulating data.

Maybe rearrange the controls so [cost] is not the last.

Or user presses Enter to move to new record row. As long as they don't enter anything, the new record will not be initiated but the Sum should calc.
