Screencast Video Tutorials - Combo Box Series and others to follow

I have put together a series of tutorials about the Combo Box. I hope to include more tutorials in the future. All of the videos are in WMV format and are available for download, free. Some have a template DB file included with the zip file so you can follow along with the tutorial. The DB files are accdb. These first screencasts were created using Access 2010.

The Combo Box series is intended for beginners that already understand how to create tables and do so in a somewhat normalized way. I would appreciate any feedback, negative or positive, you may be able to provide.

I am hosting the videos and my intention is to change how, where, and what server will host future videos. My current solution is to require a login to get to the landing page. Once you arrive at the landing page, you will see the download links and their descriptions.

You will need to enter a user name and password to get to the landing page.

I tried to download your first tutorial. It downloaded, but WinZip says format is invalid.

Thanks for the feedback, orange. I did not use WinZip or a third party compression utility to zip the files down. I used the Windows compressed folder utility (or whatever it is called). I don't have WinZip on this computer. If you right click the file, is there an option to "Extract All..." that is not put there by WinZip?

I was able to download and open the file by clicking inside. I was also able to download and "Extract All...". That would be a bummer if I have to contend with compressed folder issues.

EDIT: I am hopeful the issue is an interrupted download that corrupted the file.

OK. I'm running Windows 8.1. I didn't get the Extract all etc, but I did get a message re Compression. I selected that and did the download and watched the video. So, WinZip is not required.

Strange that the file is .zip, but not an acceptable format for WinZip itself?? I guess M$oft has customized the format???

It is good to know these things. I was not aware there would be issues, either. I guess I will have to research what all of the nuances are for compressed folders. Maybe I will create a tutorial about it. Only thing is, how will anyone be able to unzip the tutorial???
