    No problem. Like I said, I suspect you're working with an ADP (it would be the extension of the Access file). ADP's didn't really catch on, but they do let you work directly with SQL Server from within Access. Presuming that's correct, you might want to specify that when asking forum questions later, as the answers may be unique to ADP's. I think they were deprecated in 2013.

    Ok not to run this into the ground but I wasn't sure what you meant when you said ADP and it just dawned on me. That is what I use. The main DB file I uses is a .ADP so I get it now. I will keep that in mind if I get stuck again. That is why I said I am not sure how this all comes together but I see how it does now. So far I have done pretty well with seeing how other processes were constructed and playing off that with a little trial and error here and there but on this one I was totally stumped. I at first thought it might have been due to the data type it was. Now I know.
