    SharePoint Column Type Edit Allow zero length

    I have an access file linked to sharepoint and I need to edit the field type to Allow zero length.
    Since it is linked it is read only. So I would like to edit in sharepoint list however the only values I see are
    The type of information in this column are. Will any of the effect the Allow zero length?



    Single line of text
    Multiple lines of text
    Choice (menu to choose from)
    Number (1, 1.0, 100)
    Currency ($, ¥, €)
    Yes/No (check box)

    In a regular db, only text type fields can have zero length (empty string) value. No idea if SharePoint rejects empty string.

    Unless SharePoint considers an empty string as No Information, only the Enforce Unique Values set to Yes should prevent empty string in all but one record.
