Question Report value showing as ID.

I generate report in Excel linked to access but when l pull data out through MSQuery, the data comes out but l see them as ID and not as text. Please any help in helping me retrieve the data as text. Its picking up the lookup id for corresponding name in the table rather than show as text.
All help will be greatly appreciated. I really really need this please.

    Thanks much!

Sounds like you have set lookups with alias in table. Advise you not do that. Review http://access.mvps.org/access/lookupfields.htm

You need to base the Excel import on a query that joins tables so all related information is available.

Why are you building report in Excel instead of Access?

Thanks so much June7, reading your response is refreshing. I work on multiple report of which some are usually run often and I'm usually on Excel and figured would be easier to just refresh the data and use the updated data without me going back into access to get the updated data, copy then paste to use use in Excel. I wish I could avoid the linkage but I did not create the database I only use it for pulling data and using those data in EXCEL. I cant touch or wouldn't want to mess anything up.

You mentioned that I "need to base the Excel import on a query that joins tables so all related information is available". If this is an option that will make it work, I will appreciate your help in getting this done so once its set up I wont have to worry about that anymore and be better knowledgeable in that aspect as well.

Thanks soo much. I appreciate your assistance greatly.

Build a query in Access. Over in Excel create a link to the query.

What is it you do with the data in Excel? Why not do it in Access?
