Individual name appearing multiple times in a list, need query to list the names once

Good afternoon men chaps and lady chaps,
As a new and complete and utter noob to Access, please may I ask for some kind assistance,
I have an ISA log file which is generated from client log ins. It shows things like, client log in name, time, server and the like. I would like to run a query that shows all the names in the log individually. There are thousands of names and each name is in the list multiple times. I have loaded the comma separated text log in to access and given each column a heading. I can run queries against the entries, but just can’t work out how to retrieve a list showing all the names in the list once only.
    Thank you,
    Steve.
