Access 2010 Issue web database - how to I display username on Login form to Main form

    Hello,

I'm using Access 2010. I downloaded a "issues web database" (sample database from Access 2010). When I login, say I selected John. Then I clicked login, it opened Main form. How do I show the value on Main form to say Welcome, John.

I've been putting all kind of variable in the Control Source but it always gave me a #Name?.

Show code for analysis. How do you set variable?

If you must use macro instead of VBA, maybe use TempVars variable. Set the TempVars variable from the login form then it should be available for reference by the Main form. Then maybe use SetValue to populate textbox with the content of a TempVars variable. Or maybe SetValue can reference the login form directly if it remains open when Main opens. Have code in Main close Login after the textbox is populated.

I think the FetchLogin is not accessible. I can't open or do anything with it so I guess the "issue web database" is not fully editable. Anyway, thanks for helping.

That's the problem with native Access web-based databases, you must use Macros; no VBA allowed!
