    Creating a datasheet view form, with a datasheet view subform

    I want to create a main form that displays each JOB record in a datasheet view, and include within that datasheet, a subform datasheet view of the scheduledDates records. When I attached a subform to the main form, either the main form fields switch to tabular form and the scheduled dates show up as a datasheet object, and I have to use the nav controls to navigate to the other master records, or if I get the main form to show the jobs records in a datasheet view, and add the scheduledDates table (or subform) to that main form, the datasheet subform doesn't show up at all on the main form datasheet.

    { ......main form data...........} {......subfrom data.......}
    ID Title Details Scheduled dates
    1 Smith Bros Cut Grass 07/03/2013
    07/10/2013
    2 John Doe Feed lawn 06/01/2013
    3 Jane Doe Mulch 07/13/2013
    09/01/2013

    Is this possible? - or if I include a daatsheet formatted subform to a main form, am I restricted to always have the main form be one record viewable at a time?

    Still no luck...must be dim

    I am missing some basic point, I have tried various assortments of trying to create sub forms and linking them to get what I need, but I either get 'Can't build a link between unbound forms' - or I get a dialog box asking for the ID of the scheduledJobs that I want to display, but no link between the master_sub and child_sub forms. I tried the recommendation from http://www.fmsinc.com/MicrosoftAcces...edSubforms.asp and as informative as that is, I am still missing something.

    Attached is my testDB_v2. If anyone can look at it and see if you can see what I am missing. TestDB_v2.zip

    Form/subform arrangement is basic Access functionality but since I don't know your data structure I can't provide specific solution.

    In conventional arrangement main form must be in single view and subform can be in any view. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ac...010098674.aspx

    Unconventional approach is demonstrated in other link referenced earlier.
