I have had 2000 and 2003 working on the same computer with no problems. Not sure about 2007 though as have had problems with 2003 and 2007 on a different computer.

I noticed in 2007 that if I use save as there is an option to save as Access2000.

I have not been able to try it on a 2000 maching yet.

Just curious...when you say "Will Access 2003 or 2007 work on a pc with access 2000?", do you mean will a database saved in 2003 or 2007 work on an Access 2000 installation or do you mean will 2 installations of Access work together on the same computer?

I have both 2003 and 2007 at home. I am doing a db for the volenteer organization that I belong to only has access 2000 on their PC.

No - you should not design in 03 or 07 if the user has 2000.... there are features in the newer versions that the older version will not understand....

you may get away with it if you stick to extremely vanilla, core - features....but its dicey...
