Creating a member ID

I'm creating a membership db where I need to create a member ID that takes the year from the day they sign up [timestamp] and adds it to a four digit counter.

The format would look like this: 20130001

Later I will want players to find their information, such as points, awards, account info by entering their Member ID.

I have the PK field as an autonumber field for relationships, but this Memeber ID field is separate.



If you could help me with some code and where to put it, that would REALLY be appreciated.

I am such a noob with this part of Access and I'm finding it hard to research these issues to learn it on my own. Hopefully I can learn from these hands on issues.

If you recommend a better way to achieve this, I'm all ears.
