    Archiving Linked Data

I have a Access 2010 database that comprises of one main table, and several linked tables. The main table is now getting very large, and I would like to archive any records which 'expired' more than 2 years ago. I know that I could do this straight forward operation using an appand query, but I need to knopw how to make sure that the related data in the linked tables is also archived where appropriate. i.e. Some of the linked data is directly linked to specific records in the main table so can also be archived, but some is linked to several records, not all of which will be eligible for archiving.

What do you mean by 'very large' - how many records in the main table?
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

I have 4 such databases, each one holding just under 1000 records in the main table. Because of the links to other tables, however, the total number of records in each database is nearer 5000.

Actually, that is very small. I have one table with over 60,000 records and that is still quite manageable. I recommend you don't bother with 'archiving'.
