Career Progression ID
Hello
I am a novice user of Access but have the most knowledge of my workplace so I am building a database for them.
I am currently using Access 1997. The systems I am using I don't have an option for upgrading.
I am trying to create a database which will map career progression. There are a number of courses that you have to take to advance. What I want to do is create an "Employee Information Form" that can have a section with "Last Career Course Taken" and the course name, then a section with "Next Career Course". The twist is that there are 2 different career progression paths Management, and General Employee.
I have been looking over options to do this for the last few days but am unsure how to proceed.
Any help would be appreciated.

Here's one list of steps for designing a database.

I would not start with a Form. I recommend you create a data model.
If you are unfamiliar with database concepts such as Normalization and Entity Relationship Diagramming then see
