Why does access change my capitalization?

I'm trying to input the text "_QDa" into a table.
However, Access changes the text to "_Qda", with the "d" lowercase.

Is there a way to avoid that from happening?

It sounds like you are fighting AutoCorrect options. Look in: File>Options>Proofing>AutoCorrect Options
