Using two tables to return a value in one

Hello, I am very new to Access

i have a database that has two tables one for a Storm Structure and one that has Storm Sewers. What i need to do is have an upstream invert field in the storm sewer table use an invert in the Storm Structure table. What i have is a record in the Storm sewers that identifies which field the invert is in the storm Structure table. i also have a upstream structure number in the Storm Sewer Table that is the same as a Structure number in the Storm Structure table. i was wondering how do to this, i know how i would do this in excel but have no idea how to in access.

What do you mean by 'upstream invert field' and 'use an invert'? What is an 'invert'. Have you tried building a query that joins the two tables on the structure number fields?

How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Building queries is very basic Access functionality. Access Help has guidelines. Review https://www.accessforums.net/showthr...or-Access-2007
