Hello,
I looked at the other threads pertaining to the commit row error on subforms but I don't think the solutions given work in my situation. I am building a simple Applicant Tracking System. Three tables: tblJobs, tblCandidates, and tblApplicants; and three corresponding forms: frmJobs, frmCandidates, and frmApplicants. The users will enter the open positions on frmJobs and will manage their Candidates' profiles from frmCandidates. On frmCandidates, I have made frmApplicants a subform (continuous form)... I want the user to be able to "apply" a candidate to various jobs from this subform, but am having issues I suppose committing the row on the subform.
I have the relationships as follows:
tblJobs 1-> many tblApplicants; all records from tblJobs, only records from tblApplicants where equal
tblCandidates 1-> many tblApplicants; all records from tblCandidates, only records from tblApplicants where equal
The users will select the job on the subform from a drop-down box that displays the Job_Title from tblJobs. After having selected the Job_Title, I want the subform basically to pull the Candidate_ID from the main form, the Job_ID from the subform, and pull this into a new record on tblApplicants, assigning an Applicant_ID and allowing the user to update the various fields contained in the tblApplicant record from the subform.
I hope I explained it well enough.
Thank you in advance!
