    Access Runtime 2010

What am I missing with Access 2010 Runtime?

I have a small database I would like to distribute to a few people who don't have Access. I published that database as an ACCDE.

I installed Access 2010 Runtime on a co-worker's machine as my test case. I copied the new ACCDE also on that co-worker's computer. When I tried to open the ACCDE, it opened but none of the tables/forms/reports were visible.

What am I missing? How do I easily distribute databases to those without Access? Is there something special I need to do?

With an Access runtime I don't believe you have access to the navigation window you must set that up yourself either by creating a switchboard or creating a Navigation System using Access 2010.

Or specifying a startup form in File/Access Options and having your application run from there (like a main menu form).

One other question - where is the data the user enters stored? I was able to successfully install the ACCDE on my co-workers computer. He entered a record. I went back to the main database and I didn't see it in there. Where did that record go? Where are the records being stored? Or should I let the users enter everything into the main database?

    The application should be split:

    http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/splitapp/index.htm

It doesn't sound like it is. If you view the tables in the Navigation Pane, if they are physically located in that file, you will just see the table icon. If/when they are linked to a commonly used back end, there will be a little arrow next to the table icon.
