I have a query that has summed the Aggregate total for each round (R) for each year. I then created a crosstab query that showed which was the maximum total for each round. In the sample data it showed R1 was 99 points and Round 2 was 94 points. The actual table contains 16 rounds over 30 years.
    Sample data:
    R 1 54 1975
    R 1 45 1975 = 99
    R 1 38 1980
    R 1 36 1980 = 74
    R 2 25 1977
    R 2 35 1977 = 60
    R 2 41 1970
    R 2 53 1970 = 94
Having the maximum value for each round is what I wanted, but I also need to know which year it actually occurred in. How do I get the values to have the year show alongside them? Thank you for any guidance you can offer.

At first glance, it seems using a report would easily display and

group the results which you are seeking. Must you do it in a query?

No I don't need to use a query if there is another way!?

Access report functionality provides help in grouping, subtotals and

totals, in addition to formatting. Generally, a query is used to pull together the basic information, and the report can handle the rest.
The query which you have probably provides information which can be developed by the report. If the basic fields are present in the query, open a report wizard and pay careful attention to the sorting, grouping and totals areas.
