Data type mismatch in criteria expression

I am creating a simple query in a farm audit database.

In criteria of the customers field, i have entered "Farmer One" as this is the customers data which I want to retrieve and in the Totals section I have changed the setting to Where instead of group by, but I am still getting "Data type mismatch in criteria expression" popping up.

Can anyone help as to why this is???

    Any help would be great

If you have multiple tables in your query and are linking between 2 fields they must be the same field type. Otherwise you will get that error. Also In the criteria line the criteria type must be the same as the field type. for example your table has a date field but it is formated as string. You run a query on that field knowing it's a date in the criteria you put #11/22/2011# Same error.
