    Importing Table

I'm trying to import a table from another Access database. The table gets imported, but the data comes through differently.

    Orginal table data:
    column 1:0.0003
    column 2:0.00040008003201597

When imported to another Access database:
    column 1:0.0003
    column 2:4.0008003201597E-04

Can someone please explain why column 1 comes through fine, but column 2 changes the data? I have 5 columns total and columns 2 - 5 are different once imported. Plus it appears some rows come through fine, but a majority of them don't. I checked the table design and they're the same in both databases so not sure what the problem is.

    Thanks

Column 2 is showing scientific notation. It is the same number with format applied. Change the Format option for the field in the table.

The format for column 2 is "general number" and the data still shows as scientific notation. So I don't think that's the issue.

Okay, tested in Access 2007. I created a new table and entered those numbers. Access does insist on displaying the long decimal as scientific, even with General format. It is still the same number. Remove the last two decimals and the Scientific format goes away. I think you will have to live with it.
