    Conditional formating!

    Hey guys,

I have three fields, order number, status and DetailDate. If an agent enters an order today, he will be duplicating the record until the issue gets resolved, but the agent will need a intimation on the 5 th day..i need the status field to turn red on the 5 th day not only in the form, but also when the agent searches the DB with the search cmd button.

    Any ideas grtly appreciated!

Have you tried to use the build-in conditional formating? In design view, put the "status" field into focus. Goto the "Forms Design Tools" and select "Format"; choose the "conditional Format" from the ribbon. In the "Conditional Format" window, click on "New Rule". In the first drop down field, select "Expression Is". Type in your expression, "DateAdd("d",5,[DetailDate])<Date()

The conditional formating does not work in a query; you should never allow you user direct access to queries or table. Instead, create forms or report based on the query. You have total control as to how the users access these records

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
