    MS Active Directory

Unsure if this is the correct forum for this question or not

We have a terminal server environment (Windows 2008).

The issue we have is, that when we open MS Access 2010, we are prompted for our Internet password.

This does not happen with any other MS Office 2010 application.

Any ideas what is causing this?

Are you sure it's an Internet password prompt? Are there any ODBC linked tables?

I do have ODBC connections in my databases but the credentials that I am being asked for are 100% internet connection (I also have different passwords for my ODBC / Internet connections).

Ok, shooting in the dark but:

    * Are you using a shortcut to open Access? If so, are there any extra variables being passed.

    * Are any of the ODBC connections outside the current network you are on requiring access to the internet or WAN?

    * If you open Access without opening a specific database, does the same thing occur?

Am using a short cut to open MS Access but if I open Access Direct from Start | All Programs | Microsoft Office I get the same message.

All ODBC Connections are inside our network.

If I open Access without opening a specific database the same thing occurs.

Hmm. In your shortcut and/or database properties, is the working directory for Access on the same machine as the terminal server or is it somewhere else on the network? (again, shooting in the dark... lol)

The default folder is on another server on the network.

Interesting. Does connecting to that server (outside of access) require you to login with internet credentials?

If you aren't the network guy, you might check with the network guy to see if he can run a trace as to what is actually happening when you open that database. He should be able to trace traffic coming to and from both machines to see why the internet login keeps popping up.

If you are the network guy, then you have probably already done this and can just ignore that last part..

I'm at a loss - I am thinking it has to be something with the fact that the terminal server is not actually housing the database but it's just a hunch.
