    Logon form

Hi has anyone got an example if the following

I want to create a logon form however, what i want to happen is when you click on a command button the logon form opens and asks for password, if the password is correct it then opens the form in edit mode, if password is incorrect it opens the form in read only mode.

I know if there is a tech savy person the protection can be bypassed but want it for personel use.

A logon form by default is the first form to load when the database is launched, so your problem does not quite fit as you already have the db open if you are clicking on a command button. Please clarify.

The password form should come even before the switchboard.

You would benefit more if you tried to understand why developers do things the way they do and not the way you want to do things. Create users and groups, and set permissions for user/group for each object in your database and set your login form as your startup form. That will take care of all your security issues. You cannot set security AFTER launching your db, it has to be BEFORE.
