It could be many things. Are you loading over a network?

yes as the system works fine on my home computer however at my college network it does not, havent found any restrictions that would cause this .. thanks for the reply

Go to Tools....Options
Under the General tab, make sure all "Name AutoCorrect" options are turned off.
Make sure front and back end MDB's are compacted.
You could also try changing the "Subdatasheet Name" property for all tables to "[None]"
