    how does mdw work?

    hello people,

    I have a question:
I have a database and a mdw file
is it ok to rename my database? or do I get in troubel with the security?
does the mdw refer to my database?

    example:
my database name = ralph v1.0.mdb
I make some adjustments and I rename my database to ralph v1.1.mdb
is this ok or do I get in trouble?

You likely open the .mdb using a shortcut. If you right-click on it and look for its properties, you''ll see that the filepath includes the information to the path of the .mdb and the path of the .mdw. So if you want to change the filename of the .mdb you have to modify the shortcut properties, too.
Alternatively just rename the shortcut file.
    Hope this helps.
