disk space or memory error

I am getting "There isn't enough disk space or memory" when trying to change the data type in my table. But I do have plenty of disk space and also got the same error after moving the database to a different server. Any suggestions as to what can cause this error message?

Do a Compact and Repair and see if you still have the error.
