Form opens table in datasheet view

I have a form that initially opened for data entry. After several rows were entered in the table via the form, now when I open the form, the table is opened in datasheet view and will not close except by exiting the database via the switchboard.

Datasheet view in form properties is set to No.

I've worked with Access for several years and have never encountered this problem. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Could you post your db in 2000 mdb format for testing?

Access will not let me save it in 2000 format because of the features implemented in 2007 format.

so you open the form, insert records, close it, then open it a second time and the table that it's bound to opens right along with it?

is that the way of it?

    Adam,
Yes, after inserting the first 100 rows into the table, closing the form and attempting to open for adding additional data, the table opens and I can no longer access the form.

care to upload the file so others can look? Never heard of that happening before.

Alternatively, have you tried importing all of your objects into a new db as an attempt to combat upcoming corruption?

the file exceeds the 500mb limit; I'll see if I can get it down to the form and table affected. It will be a couple of hours though... church tonight.

    OK,
I've removed everything but the essentials for the form to work. I'm uploading as a zip. The form/table in question is Project Assessment/Project. As I stated, opening the form results in the table being opened...

look at your "Projects" table in the relationship viewer (from the ribbon menu). Your "jobcode" field has a child entity called "jobcode.value" associated with it. I have no idea what that is, but it's causing security issues. For instance, menus are greyed out when that table is selected. Whatever that is, it's the problem. I deleted that field out and the problem stopped.

Again, I have no ideas on that. I've not seen anything similar, at least not recently. What you can do though, if it's not relevant to you, is append all your data to a new table and simply manually copy that column over. I would assume that appending that column will bring that child entity over to the new table with it. You don't want that.
