    #name?

    Hi Members,
    Am trying to add a calculation field "Status" (text box) to Assets template form i.e
    IF Asset item = X
    Status = present

    But am getting #name? in the text box

    What do you mean by calculation field? Did you mean a calculation in a textbox ControlSource? Conditional expression in textbox uses IIf().

    Try:

    =IIf([Asset item] = "X", "present", "something else")

    If you want to save result to a field called 'Status', that requires VBA code.
    To provide db: Make copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip if large - 2mb allowed, attach to post. Attachment Manager is below the Advanced post editor window.

    Yes,
    I've tried putting a formula (IIF statement) in the control source of text box. But When I open form view. I see #name? in that box
